The Jerez Flamenco Festival has become one of the most important in the world, with a programme listing internationally renowned stars. Venues include the Palacio de Villavicencio and the Villamarta Theatre.

The city snaps awake to the clack of castanets and the stomp of tacones (heels). As well as colourful shows with singers, guitarists and dancers, the Jerez Flamenco Festival also features dance courses, concerts and exhibitions.

Although, for many, flamenco has come to represent Spain as a whole, it originated in Andalusia. Jerez itself is often referred to as the cradle of flamenco - with its Moorish castle and large Gypsy quarter it produces an unending stream of cantes (songs), bailes (dances) and guitarra (guitar) - making it the perfect place for a vibrant flamenco festival like this.

If you need accommodation for the festival, Casa JerezAna is the ideal place to stay. The house is a large, elegant townhouse from 1730, situated in the historic centre of Jerez de la Frontera. The main house is on two floors and has a living-area of approx. 1000 sq. meters, of which more than 500 sq. meters can be rented.
